I emphasize the labor students put into collaborating with their peers, revising their work, and responding to feedback in a collegial manner. Critical reflection, I believe, involves a commitment to the process of tasks rather than to the products of those tasks. It matters to me, therefore, that students encounter new materials, derive insight from those materials, direct their new knowledge towards critical social interventions, and retain utmost respect for the processes through which they achieve these learning milestones.
